About Us.The Housing Authority of the City of Ocilla, Georgia was established in 1952 to address the needs of housing for low to moderate income families. It is currently governed by six commissioners appointed by the Mayor. They oversee an Executive Director and staff that carry out the daily duties and responsibilities of the Authority.

Mission StatementThe mission of the Housing Authority of the City of Ocilla is the same as that of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development: To promote adequate and affordable housing, economic opportunity and a suitable living environment free from discrimination. The employees of the Authority provide the day-to-day operational support for the 165 public housing households located throughout the City.
The Authority’s staff performs admissions, maintenance, property management, administrative and resident service duties. |

Our Team
|
Our Executive Director is Charlene Hutchinson. She is a local to Ocilla, GA having lived here her entire life. She left the Ocilla Police Department after 28 years to lead our staff as the Executive Director. Since 2014, she has worked part-time as the Resident Services Coordinator.
Charlene is a graduate of Mercer University with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Science. She is also a graduate of ABAC with an Associate's Degree in Art. |
